They had a large collection of games (300) between the four of them and they, just like you, loved playing, swapping and talking about games. Wherever they would go they would dispute about what was the coolest game out. They would test out each others games and criticise it. Sometimes they would hold tournaments and invite loads of their mates around. Soon they had their own ââ¬Å"sub-cultureâ⬠ in school like the grungers, nerds, dossers and townies, they were known as the ââ¬Ëgame-boysââ¬â¢. More and more people started to join their little clan until it grew and they gave their selves a new name, CGS ââ¬Ëcomputer games societyââ¬â¢. They told their parents about the success of their group and they found out they could make a career out of this. Opportunity came their way when one of their parentsââ¬â¢ company were looking for a new business opportunity. The father pessimistically agreed to ask the company if they were willing to sponsor CGS, much to every ones surprise the company agreed. As you can imagine they were over the moon and CGS has been an absolute success ever since. The boys, who were at the time sixteen are now nineteen year old young men who are doing what they love and getting paid for it. This is every young game fanaticââ¬â¢s dream and you can be a part of it. CGS is paving the way for young gamers giving you articles on careers in gamingâ⬠¦ yes thatââ¬â¢s what I said, careers in gaming, from games tester to official games critic. To be a games tester all you need to do is fill out a form that can be found on the CGS website. Unfortunately you have to be over eighteen to be an official games critic but donââ¬â¢t let that demoralise you as there is probably a lot more game watching than playing! Apply now to make your dreams come true. Here at CGS as you can imagine we get a lot of post and email on how to make the company better suited for you but recently weââ¬â¢ve been getting post and email specifically telling us about rumours for the CGS magazine. Using Roof Shingle for Asphalt Pavement Research Paper
Using Roof Shingle for Asphalt Pavement - Research Paper Example In addition it contains between 32% and 42% of a coating filler such as limestone followed by some 28% to 42% of granules. The remaining portion of asphalt shingles is composed of fiberglass, cotton rags, paper and adhesives (Carter, 2008). The use of asphalt is pervasive throughout shingle manufacturing and asphalt constitutes a major part of shingles. The large amount of asphalt present in roofing shingles make these shingles suitable for recycling applications such as for constructing roads. It is estimated that the United States alone manufactures around 12.5 billion square feet of asphalt shingles in a single year (Asphalt Roofing Manufacturer's Association, 2012). In recent years there has been a renewed emphasis to recycle asphalt shingles for road based applications since the shingles contain a large amount of asphalt that can be reused. The Environmental Protection Agency estimates that around 11 million tons of waste is created each year from asphalt shingles in the United States. This waste is comprised of around one million tons of scrap generated by various asphalt shingle manufacturers while around ten million tons of waste is generated from construction sites (Environmental Protection Agency, 2005). This indicates that asphalt shingle supply can be considered as a reliable source for use in road construction given its continuous supply. Another notable aspect is that asphalt shingles and their related waste comprises around 8% of building related waste. Also, asphalt shingles represent around 10% of the waste created from demolition debris. Recycling one ton of asphalt shingles is estimated to conserve one barrel of crude oil (Owens Corning, 2011). Asphalt shingles can be recycled for use in a number of different road based applications including aggregate for road construction, creating pavements, to control dust content on gravel roads etc. It is typical to use asphalt shingles to form the hot aggregate mixture used for manufacturing and paving roads. The amount of asphalt shingles is kept constant at 5% in the aggregate mixture for desirable properties. It has been researched that increasing the amount of asphalt shingles to 7.5% in the aggregate mixtures renders the mixture soft and compromises pavement performance. In addition, using asphalt shingles from construction projects may also result in brittle pavements that might crack especially at low temperatures. For this reason asphalt shingles are typically used where stone mastic asphalt mixtures are required (Newcomb, Stroup-Gardiner, Weikle, & Drescher, 1993). Waste asphalt shingles are recycled by shredding them to half an inch size for batch plants and shredding them to a quarter inch size for continuous feed plants. These materials are added to the overall aggregate mixture before the virgin asphalt is added for binding. The waste shingles that are typically used for creating HMA contain hard asphalt. The combination of this hard asphalt and the soft virgin aspha lt tend to provide highly desirable properties to the overall aggregate mixture. Generally the resulting mixture of waste hard asphalt and soft virgin asphalt provides better stability as well as better resistance to rutting which make it desirable for use in pavements. The departments of transport of a number of states have approved the use of asphalt shingles for constructing roads and pavements. Asphalt shingles have mostly been approved for use in hot mix asphalt (HMA) pavements. While the use of asphal

Volkswagen Strategic Position Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 4500 words
Volkswagen Strategic Position - Essay Example Volkswagen entered with a share of ownership of 50% for production and sell of cars in the markets of Greater China. Subsequently in 1991, Volkswagen expanded its operations with a second joint venture in the name of FAW-Volkswagen Automotive Company Ltd. The markets of Greater china are one of the major markets of the German automobile group. By 2004, the German automaker group has laid its strong foundation to forms its subsidiary by the name of Volkswagen Group China. The company is governed by a six member committee of senior management. The senior management is responsible for corporate governance and supervision of the group in Greater China. The members of the governing body are accountable for several divisions of the operations and management that include sales and marketing, finance, operations, personnel and government relations, technology, etc. By focusing on these key areas and strengthening its strategic position in Greater China, the Volkswagen Group China today has s ixteen offices that are spread across the country that caters to the automobile markets. Volkswagen over the years has not generated huge scales of revenue from the sell of cars in the markets of Greater China but is also a key contributor to the rapid pace of growth of the economy of China. The members of the governing body in Greater China are not only responsible for the supervision of its operations but also look at the opportunities for new investments for expansion of the markets of the group. Volkswagen group in China has expanded its volume of production of cars over the years with the optimal use of resources of production. The volume of sales of Volkswagen Group China has reached around 2.81... This essay stresses that since the entry of VW in China it has become the largest Automobile Company in the country. One of the biggest reasons of success of VW has been the choice of market entry strategy which happened to be JV. This helped the company to reduce the environmental risks and set up effective distribution network in the country. As a result China has become the second largest market for VW after VW. Volkswagen has very few weaknesses. Some of them have been discussed in this section. Has relatively low amount of new technology and skills over the competitors. The management of the company is also quite old. One of the major opportunities has been the entry of China into WTO which has opened up the economy inviting a lot more investment opportunities. Another major opportunity has been the growth of the Chinese automobile market. This paper makes a conclusion that the company should focus on augmentation through augmented services such as make to order sales programs to gain customers trust and market share. Volkswagen and the JV partners may have to invest a lot more to boost up the out capacity and to increase sales in China. In future Volkswagen may have to use china as the base or hub to explore the Asian market. Already Volkswagen has made it clear about plans to export cars made in China to different Asian countries. This may help the company to lower the cost and improve quality.

In all seriousness, what do you think is going to happen with regard Essay
In all seriousness, what do you think is going to happen with regard to global warming and climate change Are we going to make it if so or not, why - Essay Example Global warming/climate change is a human caused problem and the solution also will be provided by humans themselves. We as humans are causing changes to the Earthââ¬â¢s ecosystem and getting affected in return. Therefore, in order to make it through, in order to survive, we should agree to this effort for the conservation of life on Earth. Because if weââ¬â¢re not going to do to anything to prevent global warming/climate change, the countries will become hotter, sea level will rise, there will be an increase in rains and storms and the weather will go to its extreme. We can help reduce the global warming by using the energy sensibly. As everyone knows Global warming is a serious issue and everybody should come together to fight against global warming. These weather extremes affect those the most who are poor, old, very young or sick as they donââ¬â¢t have the capability to deal with the climate changes. But in a broader aspect the climate change/global warming is affecting humans. If we can cause a problem, we can surely solve the problem too. Climate change is a global issue. Dealing with it is a collective responsibility. Yet it is obvious that the worldââ¬â¢s poorest countries will be the most affected by it. And failure to reduce global warming will cause a dangerous environment for millions of people. As many poor people already live in a deprived environment where food, clean water and shelter are inadequateââ¬â climate change will worsen their condition. As it is obvious that extreme weathers are the impact of global Warming, it will lead us to a state where hot days will become hotter, the rainfalls will become heavier, the flooding will become more frequent, the hurricanes more brutal, the draughts more acute. So as to get through this, all the awareness campaigns and efforts by environmental conservation organizations will not go in vein. They are playing their part and we should play ours by cooperating

Reflective research Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2000 words
Reflective research - Essay Example Various models of reflection had been postulated for the benefit of nursing. Nurses attained professionalism by the concept of reflections. They analyzed past occurrences and experiences and learnt from them. Reflection may be defined as ââ¬Å"the ability to reflect into past experiences for the purpose of continuous learningâ⬠ (Schon, 1983). The reflective processes assisted systematic problem-solving in a stepwise manner. Reflective nursing was a learning on-the-job where nurses were able to learn from past incidences apart from the theoretical knowledge. Experience was insufficient to provide a learning process. The experience had to be combined with reflection to bring out subtle details to enhance the learning process (Boud et al in Horn and Freed, 2008). Journaling had been advocated for closing the gap between theory and practice (Horn and Freed, 2008) Writing down notes after a particular experience or daily reflections helped a nurse develop the critical thinking proce ss. Nursing students could consider the experience with each client as unique and record the experience in the journal. Metacognition had been recognized as another method to modify the learning experience (Horn and Freed, 2008). ... Gibbsââ¬â¢ model of reflection (1988), Johnââ¬â¢s model of reflection (1994) and Kolbââ¬â¢s learning cycle (1984) were different learning models for nursing. The following is Gibbs cycle. Figure 1 Gibbs Model of Reflection Description What happened? Action Plan Feelings If it arose again, What were you what would you do? thinking and feeling? Conclusion Evaluation What else could you What was good and have done? and bad about the experience? Analysis What sense can you make of the situation Gibbsââ¬â¢ model helped nurses learn from reflections. The description of what had happened provided the details of the dayââ¬â¢s incident. The emotions that accompanied the incident expanded the circumstances under which it occurred and how one responded. Positive or negative emotions could have accompanied the incident. The evaluation of the incident contained the reason for it happening. This could further be analysed to infer how that event should have turned out had you been an experienced nurse and acted in another manner Analysis enabled one to argue how the outcome could have been improved and made different. This led to the conclusion. Using this conclusion the nurse could plan the action for the next time such an incident was repeated. With that she could make an imprint in her mind which she could use later. When the new incident happened, it would similarly help her through the steps of the Gibbââ¬â¢s cycle and produce more learning. A novice nurse who used this cycle for her learning process could reach competency very early in her life as a nurse. The incident which stimulated the research The memory of Mrs. Lopez, a 69 year old grandmother, recovering in the rehabilitation ward and who had a fall still upsets me. It was a terrible and avoidable
Property Law (Equity & Trusts) Max word limit 2250 Case Study
Property Law (Equity & Trusts) Max word limit 2250 - Case Study Example There is no such statutory provision for cohabitants; they are subject to the equitable rules of resulting and/or constructive trusts and/or promissory estoppel and may have no redress despite having made substantial contributions to the maintenance of the property and/or indirect contributions to the payment of the mortgage. This is aggravated by the lack of certainty in the law with regard to measuring acquisition and quantification of beneficial interests. The 'justice' received turns on the initial pleading of the claimant and the manner in which the household budget was allocated4. Typically a claimant who seeks an estoppel will have a broader range of remedies available from the court than someone who seeks to establish a constructive trust based on indirect contributions. This has led to inconsistency in judgments, which undermines the certainty of the law, with a subsequent increase in litigation and costs5. The Law Commission speculated on introducing a 'statutory trust' where registered beneficiaries would earn a pro rata proprietary interest rather than a personal right to be repaid the value of their relevant contribution(s), subject to evidence of gifts or loans6. Unfortunately it was felt that the scheme would not reduce the evidential burden and that it did not offer enough remedies. In particular the scheme did not fully address the lost economic opportunities following the breakdown of a relationship where the contributions were non-direct7. Other commonwealth jurisdictions have different approaches but the same issues of uncertainty and obscurity.8 It is submitted that the focus on the 'family' home is too narrow given the statistics on cohabitation and the many diverse forms which have evolved. A broader approach to shared rights in accommodation is called for. As demonstrated in the Law Commission's review of other jurisdictions waiting for the courts to develop greater flexibility will necessarily be slow, strapped as they are by an Executive still focusing on the 'family' - hence displaying a lack of understanding of the social issues - on one hand and judicial precedent on the other. Advisors also will be limited by decided cases and the increasing difficulty of obtaining legal aid to bring novel situations before the court. Further, the law is based on outmoded ideas of shared accommodation and the idea of common intention. The emphasis on status - with marriage being the ideal - seems to be holding back the development of the law in this area. It is submitted that the 'evil' to be overcome is not one's marital status, or whether or not children are brought up in a marriage, but inadequate financial provision for persons who have a legitimate expectation to be provided for. This should be the norm regardless of 'status'. One absurdity of the 'status' approach is the impact on the descendants of married versus non-married couples, where 'legitimate' children can expect to be provided for whilst 'illegitimate' children are reliant on a judge's largesse. The Civil Partnership Act 2004 ss65-68 are a step in the right direction, but only covers couples of the same gender who have undergone a prescribed ceremony. Whilst non-financial contributions are recognised, this is limited by the requirement of a contribution of a 'substantial

People and work Assignment Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2000 words
People and work - Assignment Example This company is Highway Stores Ltd and we would see the nature of HRM this organization follows. Here in this company the department that handles all the employee related matters is referred to as Personnel Department though it should be noted that the training policies are maintained and looked over by other departments. The head office in Midlands of Highway Stores Ltd controls the Personnel Function and here the hierarchy is formulated in three fold structures with three Personnel Administrators, one Personnel Officer and one Personnel Manager who is directly responsible for the department. Collaboration sense prevails with the department indulge in looking after different personnel duties that include all issues related to employees. Like training the payroll issue is looked after by the Finance department and the Personnel function is responsible to repot all issues relation to these to the Legal Director of the Highway Stores Ltd. Therefore, it could be stated that the responsibilities of the Personnel Function department of Highway Stores Ltd. is limited in many sense among which the training sector which is so important to the HRM is detached from the overhead. This would lead to substantial problem in future as the training modules are formulated only for the store workers and not for the personnel working at the head office. This would ultimately lead to a sense of discrimination in the context of future communication system. This leads to a situation where there needs to be a problem solving overhead for Personnel Function department of Highway Stores Ltd. The absence of such a department only could add fuel to the probable problems to arise in future. However there is a standardized internal policy that provides a tentative guideline if needed. Absence of a clearly laid down policy as well as lack of contact over the training procedures sets a field of probable problem that could cause trouble in future within Personnel Function department of Highway Stores Ltd. It is also found in Personnel Function department of Highway Stores Ltd. that this lack of needed training proves to be of a huge disadvantage whereas this problem is confronted by only the manager who is blissfully qualified in this sense. But this imbalance of knowledge would ultimately cause further drift within the department; at least theoretically there is the potential within the Personnel Function department of Highway Stores Ltd. Another problem at Personnel Function department of Highway Stores Ltd. is the personnel leave and sickness issue. This is another weak point of the department. This is because the Personnel Function department of Highway Stores Ltd. is responsible of keeping record of personnel leave due to sickness which exceeds more than six weeks but apart form this record the department is not responsible for any other records of employees who remain absent for reasons other than sickness. Moreover, records are not maintained if the employee is absent less than six weeks. This proves to be a fatal disadvantage of records by the Personnel Function department of Highway Stores Ltd. and the basic effectiveness of maintaining a HRM is mostly lost. But the most interesting and wearisome problem of the Personnel Fun

Ethnographic Perspectives on the Everyday Assignment
Ethnographic Perspectives on the Everyday - Assignment Example Effective communication can be lost as the worker tries to explain the problem and the manager is only hearing excuses as to why expectations cannot be met. Failures in communications can result in strained relationships between managers and workers as information is not given or processed correctly. The way in which workers and managers communicate with one another is often defined by the management style that a manager will adopt. The type of leadership that is established will have an effect on how a worker responds and is able to communicate to the manager. As well, the way in which an individual has experienced speaking with leadership will also have an effect on how they can communicate to a manager. Communications styles develop long before an individual enters the workforce, but they can be trained in order to provide for more effective communications (Young, 2009). Often times it is a lack of communications training that will position a worker so that are unable to give information to an employer. There are four basic types of management that will affect the way in which communication develops between a manager and an employee. The four types are autocratic, paternalistic, democratic, and laissez-faire. In an autocratic type of management, information is proprietary and all decisions are made by the manager. A paternalistic manager will make decisions upon the basis of what is best for the employees. Through good relationships with employees, this type of manager acts as a guardian for their interests. In a democratic style of management the manager will allow employees a voice in the decision making process with discussions and a fairly free flow of information allowing for some equality within the groups and teams of the organization. In the laissez-faire form of management, the manager avoids his responsibilities and the employees end up picking up duties

Srategic Quality Management Implementation Plan Assignment
Srategic Quality Management Implementation Plan - Assignment Example Citigroup Inc. has always made an effort to marshal as much support as possible to derive a consensus necessary to implement the SQM applicable. The effort would take longer to put in place, but at least it would be moving forward. In some settings, it is often difficult to get consensus on minor issues, and it is almost impossible on change initiatives which impact the whole organization (Peratec, 1995). To move forward the management must develop and distribute an improvement plan which is integrated into the strategic plan for the business. To be the most successful, an excellence or quality initiative should be an integral part of strategic and tactical operations of the business hence the Strategic Quality Management Assess Current Culture, Values and Operating Guidelines Citigroup Inc. uses quality information for improvement, and not to judge or control people, there are rewards for results, authority is equal to responsibility while cooperation, not competition, as a base for working together. Employees have an ownership stake, secure jobs and a climate of fairness. Top most is that compensation is equitable (Peratec, 1995). ISO9000 Broadly ISO9000 series concerns itself with the quality management purpose and it is as such the main focus in ensuring gradual and/or continuous improvement as a process as recognized in this firm. ISO9000 is concerned with quality management. To be able to meet the demands of ISO9000, an organization has to improve quality in at each stage, from design through to delivery, assessment and evaluation, through a formal and rigorous management system to ensure conformity of the product or service to its specification as per the customer wish. It requires that all the activities necessary to produce the product or service be documented if the quality system is to conform to the standard. Everybody in the firm needs to understand its implications and to work to the systems and follow the procedures that have been put in place. T he SQM model There is interplay, back and forth, between the elements; for example, consideration of what strategic actions if taken can provoke discussions of whether and how the strategy can be implemented with real effectiveness (Peratec, 1995). The tasks involved in strategic management are never isolated from everything else that falls within a manager's preview. Strategy has to be formulated and implemented in the midst of a managerial schedule that is fragmented with appointments, meetings, paperwork deadlines, unexpected problems, and momentary crises. It is incorrect to construe the job of managing strategy as the exclusive task of managers, even though it may well be the most important function they perform where organizational success or failure is concerned (Peratec, 1995). Formulating and implementing strategy must be regarded as something that is ongoing and that evolves. What qualifies as a surefire high-performance strategy today is sooner or later rendered stale by events unfolding both inside and outside the enterprise. The task of "strategizing" can never therefore be a one-time exercise. As a consequence, fine-tuning-type changes in strategic plans, and an occasional major change in strategic thrust, are normal and expected. The need to keep strategy in tune with an organization's changing situation makes the strategic management process dynamic and means that the prevailing strategy is

Achieve dramatic effect Essay Example for Free
Achieve dramatic effect Essay Act three is the boiling point of the crucible. How does Arthur Miller create tension and suspense to achieve dramatic effect?à  The crucible was written in 1953 to highlight the atrocities of McCarthyism, the modern parallel to the Salem witch-hunts. Senator Joseph McCarthy was as determined to hunt out communists, as the Salem judges had been to hunt out witches. Like the Salem judges he sought to extract first confessions and then named of alleged associates. Refusal to denounce others in both communities could be punished as contempt of the committee or court therefore many were forced into self-preservation and started to blame others to save themselves. Most of the crucible is centered on the court and theocracy. It was these strong religious beliefs that made the town of Salem, Massachusetts, particularly disrupted by the rumour of witchcraft. Salem was an intensely Puritan village whose religion frowned upon fun; Christmas festivities were forbidden and holidays only meant that they must focus even more time upon prayer and the church. This strict upbringing, without any fun, was partly to blame for the childrens crying out. The boredom they must have suffered led to their accusations so that they may be at the centre of attention. The puritan religion at that time throve on fear of the devil and had an obsession with sin and damnation. Therefore any other justification for the girls behaviour was seen as contempt of the court. It wasnt until much later that mass-hysteria was considered and concluded to be the explanation if the girls behaviour. The cause of Mass-hysteria in this case was the group of childrens boredom; the reason for this is twofold. Firstly it led to dancing and conjuring of spirits in the wood and secondly Abigail Williams boredom gave her a need for attention. Abigails accusing of several witches caused Betty to believe she saw the Devil and a baseless belief, such as this, is often the cause of Mass-hysteria; it begins small with one person in hysteria (Abigail) but travels and inflicts more people and more people. Abigail Williams, a teenage girl, is the most powerful character in The Crucible. During the play she manages to gain control over all but one of the community. However, this person, John Proctor, subjected to Abigails power in the past as we find out later on and is the cause of much irony in act three. Abigail is Reverend Parris niece, his beliefs and his views of witchcraft change as the play progresses. He goes from being totally against witchcraft and tries in to avoid the subject to trying to convict many witches and those who try to stop the accusations in act three. I think that Parris does this is mainly for self-preservation. The first act of self-preservation in the play was made by Abigail, she accused Tituba, Parris slave. I think that she blamed Tituba because she saw it as a way out. I think that when Hale grabbed her up close and asked if she called the Devil she replied I never called him! Tituba, Tituba because it released the pressure off of her. The pressure being released and put onto Tituba meant that Abigail was free and was not under questioning. The courts procedures were very strict in Salem. There were two judges, judge Hathorne and deputy-governor Danforth. Danforth strongly believes in the court and is stubborn in his beliefs; he thinks that people are scared of the court because they are guilty. He wont listen to any reason that may lead him off his path. When Giles Corey proposes his deposition to save his wife (which said that Putnam manipulated the girls) is proposed in act three, Danforth sticks to the way he believes is right, the court. He says that he must go through the proper procedure and that he must submit his evidence in proper affidavit. Miller puts Giles deposition in the play for two reasons. I think that the first is to show how difficult it is to be heard and that they could not protest their innocence, this foreshadows the later events. I think the second reason is to create time for the judges to read it. This time creates tension as the audience are waiting to see what will happen with Mary Warrens deposition, which we know about from act two. Arthur Miller builds up the tension in act three, he uses the tension of the conflict between Danforth, Parris and Hale near the begin and throughout. Theses are three men with different beliefs, rules and procedures, to achieve dramatic effects. He does this by using the conflict to give hope in the audience that the court will crumble.à  Later on in act three Miller creates tension by putting Danforth on the spot. He does this by putting Proctor on the scene with his deposition of the evidence of Mary Warren. Again Miller creates tension because we already know from act one about Marys character. She is a shy, naà ¯Ã ¿Ã ½ve and subservient girl who wanted to be honest from the start. In act one she says Abby, weve got to tell. We must tell the truth, Abby! however Abigails strong, threatening behaviour stopped her from owning up, we wonder whether Abigail will do this again.
Combat Strategies of Pizza Hut Essay Example for Free
Combat Strategies of Pizza Hut Essay In the past, Pizza Hut is an outstanding restaurant, especially in offering different style of pizza. Pizza Hut is still a unique restaurant in the early 90ââ¬â¢s. Therefore, competitors havenââ¬â¢t existed yet. However, Pizza Box has already existed that became Pizza Hutââ¬â¢s competitor. Recently, there are more and more choices for people to choose when they want to eat pizza. For instance, California Pizza, Saizeriya Italian Restaurant, Pizza Express etc. They are not only offering similar food as pizza hut, some of them may even sell their food at a more affordable price. Apart from the growing number of restaurants, there are more restaurants offering food delivery service. For example, McDonald, Pizza Box, Cheese Pizza, Yoshinoya, Sushi One etc. There are various choices and even different style of cuisine for customers to choose. Customers can just order their food by phone or internet which is really convenient. In order to combat the competitors, Pizza Hut has adopted several strategies on indoor dinning service and pizza delivery service. We think the key combating strategies of Pizza Hut is that it keeps creating and promoting new style of pizza with efficient marketing strategies. New product may attract customers as some of the customers may feel bored about the original style of pizza and willing to try new things. The marketing strategies of Pizza Hut are effective as it promoted their new style of pizza through different ways. For instance, it showed advertisements on television, posted posters in public area and sent leaflet. People keep receiving message about the new dishes of Pizza Hut. People will be more likely to think of Pizza Hut when they are wondering what to eat. As a result, Pizza Hut focused on the marketing tactics and development of new dishes. Pizza Hut allowed customers to make their choices according to their interest. Basically, customers can choose to have thin or thick layer of the pizza base. They can even pay extra money for mozzarella cheese stuffed into the edge of the pizza. Moreover, customers can also create their own pizza by choosing the ingredients they like. Furthermore, Pizza Hut offers free refill of soft-drinks. This can attract soft-drinksââ¬â¢ lover, especially teenagers. On the other hand, Pizza Hut create pizza card. Customers who got pizza card can enjoy 20% discount. Sometimes, they may also cooperate with banks. Customers who got specific credit card can enjoy the discount. The special offers mentioned above can attract more customers because it can help Pizza Hut to gain loyal customers and repeated business. Pizza Hut provided an efficient set menu in the restaurant. In the set menu, dishes are bundled and packaged together. They are usually divided into set menu for 2 people, 4 people and 6 people. Some of the customers, especially those who are in a group, like the set menu of Pizza Hut since the set menu can give suggestions and recommendation on dishes that are suitable for them. It is convenient for them to make decisions on what to eat. Moreover, it can also bring advantages to Pizza Hut since the service and kitchen team can have a better management. Servers can recommend customers to try dishes that they might not normally order. It brings benefits for both service and kitchen teams, since it is easier to predict what the customers will choose and chefs can distribute the workload among kitchen station more evenly. Therefore, the food and service can be maintained in a high quality. Apart from the set menu, Pizza Hut also provide A la Carte menu. The A la Carte of Pizza Hut included various choices of food and beverages. Therefore, customers can choose what they want to eat from those various dishes. Pizza Hut can also promote their signature dishes more easily. Pizza Hut aims to provide efficient and high quality pizza delivery service. To achieve their goal, they focus on the design of the delivery bags and the supervision of efficiency. Customers concerned about the efficiency of food delivery service. Pizza Hut will supervise the delivery efficiency through advanced system and make sure the food will deliver to the destination on time. There are more than 900 deliverers in Hong Kong and they will deliver the food to the destination through the most efficient and direct route. Furthermore, there are 500 telephone operators which make sure that there are adequate operators to receive customerââ¬â¢s order calls. The design of the delivery bags helps to maintain the quality of food. Pizza Hut named their delivery bag as ââ¬Å"Heat Bagâ⬠. There are heat device in the delivery bags which can keep the food hot and fresh during the delivery process. Then, the food quality can be maintained when the customers received their food. To sum up, Pizza Hut can project its characteristics and maintain the quality of food through their combating strategies. Although there are numerous competitors, Pizza Hut is able to survive in the market.

Causes of Asthma
Causes of Asthma Asthma is a chronic lung disease that inflames and narrows the airways. It can be both short term and long term. Asthma causes recurring periods of wheezing (a whistling sound when you breathe), chest tightness, shortness of breath, andcoughing. The coughing often occurs at night or early in the morning. Asthma affects people of all ages, but it most often starts during childhood. In the United States, more than 25 million people are known to have asthma. About 7million of these people are children. The airways are tubes that carry air into and out of your lungs. People who have asthma have inflamed airways. The inflammation makes the airways swollen and very sensitive, the airways tend to react strongly to certain inhaled substance. When the airways react, the muscles around them tighten. This narrows the airways, causing less air to flow into the lungs. The swelling also can worsen, making the airways even narrower. Cells in the airways might make more mucus than usual. Mucus is a sticky, thick liquid that can further narrow the airways. This chain reaction can result in asthma symptoms. Symptoms can happen each time the airways are inflamed (national institute of health). Understanding and Explaining Asthma The aetiology of asthma has been explained in terms of heredity, incitement, and induction. Incitement is the immediate broncho-constriction noted among asthmatics and others to nonspecific stimuli. Induction is the enhancement of the response to inciters that can follow exposure to certain stimuli, mostly inflammatory agents such as allergens, infections and other irritants, including industrial contaminants such as`4he plicatic acid from Western Red Cedar wood. There is a good reason to believe in a hereditary component to asthma, different components of the condition having possibly independent genetic origins. The best documented genetic component is the familial allergy to ragweed6, and Sibbald et al.7 have argued for independent hereditary components that influence atopy and bronchial responsiveness. However, migrant studies strongly suggest the major determinant to be environmental and not genetic. Both Tokeluans4 and Xhosas3 clearly have the genetic potential for developing a sthma, but this is expressed only on migrating to an economically more developed area (Journal of the Royal Society of Medicine Volume 80 June 1987 367). Isolated examples, such as the increase in asthmatics attending emergency rooms following the eruption of the Mount Helens volcano8, may be explained in terms of incitement, but there are major objections to using this mechanism as a general explanation for differences in the prevalence of asthma. The wide variety of substances capable of inducing broncho constriction in asthmatic subjects can be divided into endogenous mediators such as histamine, prostaglandins or leukotrienes, and exogenous agents such as sulphur dioxide, volcanic ash or cold dry air. For the epidemiologist attempting to explain the prevalence of asthma, the endogenous mediators are unhelpful. The discovery of a mediator whose presence distinguishes asthmatic from non asthmatic populations would be useful, but in turn would raise the question of why one population had more of the mediator than the other population. For the reason discussed above, a genetically controlled explanation can be discounted, which leaves an environmental factor to increase the amount of mediator in the asthmatic population. This is essentially the same as the initial question of what environmental factor might account for differences in the prevalence of asthma. Exogenous inciters, being environmental in origin, theoretically offer a better hope of advancing the issue further, but, in the event, are no more helpful. Differences in the prevalence of asthma are not accounted for simply by differences in the incidence of clinical symptoms provoked by environmental triggers. They also reflect differences in the under-lying prevalence of bronchial hyper-responsiveness. In van Niekerks study3, it was the response to the exercise challenge that differed between urban and rural areas. This cannot be explained simply in terms of the prevalence of inciters in the environment. Induction provides a more promising general theory with which to explain differences in prevalence. There is plenty of evidence that induction does occur, particularly in an industrial context and this has been used extensively as a general model for the aetiology of asthma. It does not, however, explain the distribution of asthma in developing countries. Agents that have been sh own to induce asthma are abundant in the Third World ( Journal of the Royal Society of Medicine Volume 80 June 1987 367). Fatality of Asthma Acute respiratory infections are probably the single most important cause of death among children. It is thus appealing to consider the hypothesis that fatal and near fatal attacks of asthma may have common causes, and that studying non-fatal asthma attacks (as well as being of value in itself) may provide useful information on the factors associated with fatal asthma attacks. Campbell investigated the levels of agreement between information obtained directly from cases of near fatal asthma attacks with those obtained independently from close acquaintances, almost all of whom were family members living in the same household. They found very high levels of agreement for recognized markers of chronic asthma severity (such as a hospital admission in the last 12 months or an intensive care unit admission), utilization of medical services, the use of prescribed agonists (although there was less agreement for other asthma medications such as oral xanthines), and psychiatric features. These findings are generally encouraging in that they indicate that information relating to these risk factors and clinical characteristics obtained from close acquaintances has reasonable reliability in studies of near fatal asthma attacks and therefore such information may also be reliable for persons dying from asthma. In contrast, information on features of the long term asthma history such as sleep disturbance and the frequency of, or trends in, symptoms in previous years was not reliable. The reliability of the reported circumstances associated with a near fatal episode was not examined. Thus, while it would seem appropriate to continue to examine deaths from asthma using clinical information that has been recorded before the fatal attack, the findings of Campbell suggests that interviews with acquaintances may provide additional useful data. Richards have compared the demographic characteristics of patients suffering fatal asthma attacks throughout New Zealand during 1980-6 with t hose experiencing severe life threatening asthma attacks in the Auckland region during 1981-7. The information avail-able for the study was limited, but the findings once again confirm the importance of a previous life threatening attack of asthma as a marker of subsequent risk of death from asthma. About one quarter of the subjects who died in Auckland during the period of the study had a previous admission to an intensive care unit with asthma. This suggests that asthmatic subjects who experience a life threatening attack are a group in whom intensive medical treatment and follow up should be arranged. These considerations indicate that, although there are some practical advantages in studying near fatal asthma attacks, there may well be greater problems of interpretation of the findings than in studies of fatal asthma. Nevertheless, when interpreted cautiously, studies of near fatal attacks may provide a useful complement to studies of fatal attacks in monitoring the time trends in severe asthma, and in identifying the causes of those changes which occur (Thorax 1993;48:1093-1094).

The Ladder :: essays research papers
KICKING AWAY THE LADDER There is currently great pressure on developing countries to adopt a set of ââ¬Å"good policiesâ⬠ and ââ¬Å"good institutionsâ⬠ ââ¬â such as liberalisation of trade and investment and strong patent law ââ¬â to foster their economic development. When some developing countries show reluctance in adopting them, the proponents of this recipe often find it difficult to understand these countriesââ¬â¢ stupidity in not accepting such a tried and tested recipe for development. After all, they argue, these are the policies and the institutions that the developed countries had used in the past in order to become rich. Their belief in their own recommendation is so absolute that in their view it has to be imposed on the developing countries through strong bilateral and multilateral external pressures, even when these countries donââ¬â¢t want them.Naturally, there have been heated debates on whether these recommended policies and institutions are appropriate for develop ing countries. However, curiously, even many of those who are sceptical of the applicability of these policies and institutions to the developing countries take it for granted that these were the policies and the institutions that were used by the developed countries when they themselves were developing countries. Contrary to the conventional wisdom, the historical fact is that the rich countries did not develop on the basis of the policies and the institutions that they now recommend to, and often force upon, the developing countries. Unfortunately, this fact is little known these days because the ââ¬Å"official historiansâ⬠ of capitalism have been very successful in re-writing its history. Almost all of todayââ¬â¢s rich countries used tariff protection and subsidies to develop their industries. Interestingly, Britain and the USA, the two countries that are supposed to have reached the summit of the world economy through their free-market, free-trade policy, are actually the ones that had most aggressively used protection and subsidies. Contrary to the popular myth, Britain had been an aggressive user, and in certain areas a pioneer, of activist policies intended to promote its industries. Such policies, although limited in scope, date back from the 14th century (Edward III) and the 15th century (Henry VII) in relation to woollen manufacturing, the leading industry of the time. England then was an exporter of raw wool to the Low Countries, and Henry VII for example tried to change this by taxing raw wool exports and poaching skilled workers from the Low Countries. Particularly between the

Buddhism :: essays research papers
Buddhism: Things I Find Interesting As I was reading the selected portions of the book for this chapter, I came across a few things that I found interesting. At first I did not catch them, but after I went back and reread the selections, I found these things, that I thought were intriguing. Buddhism is supposedly a non-theistic religion. However, in the reading titled "The Majjhim-Nikaya: Questions Which Lend Not to Edification" (5.1) and in "Realizing the Four Noble Truths" (5.3, the Buddha is continually referred to as "The Blessed One". If he is only a man, why is he referred to in such a way? Other Buddhists have the potential to become Buddhas, so would they also be referred to as "Blessed One"? If this Buddha was not the first, and not the last Buddha, why are other Buddhas also not referred to as "Blessed ones"? In my opinion, if this Buddha is not considered to be a god, then he should at least be referred to as "One of the Blessed Ones" instead of "The Blessed One". Another concept that I found interesting was the idea of duality that was discussed in "The Majjhima-Nikaya: Questions Which Lend Not to Edification" (5.1). I do not quite understand it, so I was intrigued it. The selection says that the soul and body are identical, and then that the soul and body are separate. It says that the world is finite and that the world is infinite. It also says that the world is eternal and then that it is not. How can these things be? I do not understand how the saint can both exist and not exist after death. I think that in my worldview, things such as these concepts are not present. I see ideas such as the world, and the body and soul as one way or the other.
International impact on Telephone Company :: essays research papers
International Internet Telephony has been evolving since its introduction in mid-1990s. With the Information Technology changing rapidly, different companies that work in telecommunications market are using various strategies to stay competitive. The main change has been noticed has been when more and more companies become IP carriers and multiple services providers whereas certain companies have refrained from any expansion into new infrastructure. à  Ã  Ã  Ã  Ã  For a growing number of telecommuting workers, a cell phone, a PDA, and a high-speed laptop can be indispensable tools for earning an honest dayââ¬â¢s pay. Thus telecommunication companies have to stay competitive in todayââ¬â¢s tough market to survive. For example, AOL recently began to offer ââ¬Å"AOL anywhereâ⬠, service that allows users to check their email, instant messages, news headlines, stock portfolios, and other key features any time and anywhere. Or there is another service that is available only for AOL members ââ¬â it is AOL TV that allows its users to do those essential to the users everyday things with their TV. AOL has always been known for providing ââ¬Å"the most convenient and easiest-to-use interactive service available,â⬠ and that is why AOL is one of the competitors for telephone companies such as Qwest or AT&T. (http://www.corp.aol.com/whoweare.html) AOL is also the only truly global interactive service provider, offer ing AOL services in 16 countries in 8 languages. à  Ã  Ã  Ã  Ã  With the development of technology, customersââ¬â¢ demand is increasing as well. And Thus telephone companies are doing everything they can ââ¬Å"to be on topâ⬠ of the market. For instance, in 1999, Qwest Communications International, Inc. had an investment into Rhythms NetConnections Inc. for performance-class digital subscriber line (DSL) connectivity to addition that Rhythms has agreed to provide space to Qwest in their local facilities for collocation of call processing equipment and to use Qwest as its preferred web hosting provider. Rhythms provides high-speed networking solutions for remote access to private networks and the Internet. (http://www.qwest.com/about/media/pressroom/1,1720,162_archive,00.html?printVersion=1&xmlFilename=1999Apr07162&storyId=162) As Qwestââ¬â¢s competitor, ââ¬Å"AT&T's continued financial strength helped underwrite growth and improvement, from the multi-billion-dollar digitalization of its entire network, through a sustained move into the international market and nearly 200 countries, to major mergers and acquisitions.â⬠ (http://www.att.com/history/history2.html) For example, in 1998, AT&T had invested over $70 billion in the company's future and redefining its services and products. In 1999, AT&T extended its reach through the local service businesses, broadband cable companies and wireless providers that were acquired in the past several years. ââ¬Å"More than 75 percent of its capital investment went into growth businesses, up from 60 percent in 1998.

Tension and Suspicion Between U.S. and Russia
Name Teacher AP U. S. History October 8, 2012 DBQ From the years of 1941 to 1949, there was an increase in suspicion and tension between the United States and the Soviet Union. The Soviet Union was a Communist country ruled by a dictator while America was a capitalist democracy that valued freedom. Their completely different beliefs and aims caused friction to form between them, which contributed to the creation of the Cold War. At the start of the first world war, Germany and the Soviet Union signed a nonaggression pact. With Germany and the Soviet Union being allies, the rest of the world had their suspicions. In the U. S. , Senator Truman expressed his dislike of both countries and his view of them as potential enemies(Doc A). Unfortunately for the Soviet Union, the pact between him and Hitler was soon broken by a German invasion. The invasion of the Soviet Union on June 22, 1941 was a surprise to everyone, especially Stalin who was not prepared for it. According to Churchill, it w as the turning point of the war. This turn on Stalin seemed like a great thing, if the Soviet Union hadnââ¬â¢t collapsed so quickly. With the fear of the Soviet Unionââ¬â¢s surrender, Churchill and Roosevelt secretly met in the historic Atlantic Conference in August 1941. An outcome of the conference was the eight-point Atlantic Charter, where Churchill and Roosevelt agreed to defeat Germany before turning to Japan, and they planned for a new world organization, and affirmed their commitment to self-determination for all nations. In the midst of war, tensions were expressed in terms of which nation will emerge as world leader after the war.By 1943, the Allied nations were all committed to winning the war and creating a world in which ââ¬Å"men in all lands may live out their lives in freedom from fear and want. â⬠ That was there goal even though they had yet come up with the basis for a world organization. In 1943, the foreign ministers of the United States, the Soviet Un ion, and Great Britain all met to discuss and define their goal. The United States Secretary of State, Cordell Hull, made the flight to journey to Moscow for the conference(Doc B). The Moscow Declaration was signed on October 30, 1943.In December, two months later, the three leaders issued a ââ¬Å"Declaration of the Three Powers Regarding Iran. â⬠ The Soviet Union had committed to joining the war against Japan and expressed support for Roosevelt's plans for the United Nations. Roosevelt felt confident that he had won Stalin's trust by proving that the U. S. was willing to negotiate directly with the Soviet Union and by guaranteeing the opening of the second front in France by the spring of 1944. However, Stalin also gained tentative concessions on Eastern Europe that would be confirmed during the later wartime conferences. In 1945, the famed meeting of the heads of government of the United States, Britain, and the Soviet Union was held to discuss the reestablishment of the nati ons of a war-torn Europe. The Yalta Conference, held near Yalta in the Crimea, was the second of three wartime conferences held among the Big Three. The Yalta conferees, Roosevelt, Stalin, and Churchill, confirmed the policy adopted at the Casablanca Conference of demanding Germany's unconditional surrender. There they made plans to divide Germany into four zones of occupation under a united control commission in Berlin for war crimes trials. The Polish eastern border would follow the Curzon Line, and Poland would receive territorial compensation in the West from Germany. Discussing Poland, Churchill wanted to ensure free elections. He pointed out that the U. K. ââ¬Å"could never be content with any solution that did not leave Poland a free and independent state. â⬠ Stalin pledged to permit free elections in Poland, but forestalled ever honoring his promise. Stalin talked with Roosevelt and concluded that Churchill didnââ¬â¢t understand the Russianââ¬â¢s fears regarding G ermany(Doc C).These misunderstandings caused new suspicions on both sides. The Big Three asked China and France to join them in sponsoring the founding conference of the United Nations. The USSR secretly agreed to enter the war against Japan within three months of Germany's surrender and was promised S. Sakhalin, the Kuril Islands, and an occupation zone in Korea. The secret agreement also provided that the Manchurian railroads should be under joint Chinese-Soviet administration. The subsequent outbreak of the cold war and Soviet successes in EasternEurope led to much criticism in the United States of the Yalta Conference and of Roosevelt, who was accused of delivering Eastern Europe to Communist domination. In the Soviet Union, foreign minister V. M. Molotov made a broadcast following the Truman Doctrine and the Marshall Plan(Doc E). Molotov felt compelled to take preventive actions in response. Molotov condemned the Marshall Plan as imperialistic and he claimed it was dividing Eur ope into a capitalist and communist camp. In response he initiated the Molotov Plan. This plan created several bilateral relations between the states of Eastern Europe and the Soviet Union and later evolved into the Council for Mutual Economic Assistance. Molotov was expressing the views of many Russians, that they saw the West as reneging on its promises made at Yalta and Potsdam. In the United States, an article was published in The New York Times announcing that Czechoslovakia had become a communist state(Doc F). Under pressure from the Czechoslovakian Communist Party, President Eduard Benes allows a communist-dominated government to be organized. In response, America eliminated a large loan to Czechoslovakia that outraged parties in Czechoslovakia. In the London Evening Standard, a cartoon was published portraying Stalin plotting to conquer the rest of Europe(Doc G). The symbolism of the cartoon in Great Britain was the heightened distrust of Russian leaders and it was concrete ev idence of the tensions that sparked the Cold War. Although the Soviet Union did not physically intervene, Western observers decried the virtually bloodless communist coup as an example of Soviet expansion into Eastern Europe.Even though the United States and Great Britain denounced the communist seizure of power in Czechoslovakia, neither took any direct action. Throughout the years of 1945-1948, there was a poll conducted in the United States(Doc H). Each year, a person was asked a question about their feelings toward the Soviet Union. In 1945, a little more than half of the people voted that yes, they believe Russia could be trusted to cooperate with us after the war. In early 1946, the question was if they thought Russia could cooperate with us in world affairs. Half said no. Later that year, 60% voted hat they saw Russia was trying to build herself up to be the ruling power of the world. In May 1948, almost 70% saw the U. S. as being to soft in its policy toward Russia. The heig htened tensions, suspicions, and fears that became associated with the Cold War can be seen in the dramatic shifts in public opinion. With the Soviet Union now a threat, 10 European nations, Canada, and the U. S. established the North American Treaty Organization (NATO) to resist Soviet aggression in Europe. With the Soviet Union somewhat humiliated by the success of the Berlin airlift, they finally ended the Berlin Blockade. It was a success for the West until tension was again increased when the U. S. S. R. sets off its first atomic bomb. Now that the Soviet Union had successfully developed and conducted nuclear tests, the U. S. monopoly was over. Suspicions and tensions between the United States and the Soviet Union were seen dramatically from 1941 to 1949 in conferences, public announcements, newspaper articles, and even public surveys. Countries as a whole distrusted each other because of their different beliefs. Each side was engaged in hostility that kept the Cold War brooding .

In the troika part, underbelly operations such as adjusting the vehicle jailbreak and adjusting steer pedals ar performed. later the assembly is complete, the realized vehicle sugars the interrogationing phase, where the adjacent quizs atomic number 18 conducted junction trys for pedals and round gas continual, headlamp run, faux pas shew, engine tucker out test, and the stop test. The connective test focuses on adjusting the wheels through the manual adaptation of the top of the bowel movement and upgrade wheels and the bank building of the attend and cig artte wheels. Further alinements arrest that the commission wheel is positioned rightly. The conjunctive test is typically make in a physical body ergometer chamber, shown in the figure. a chasis ergometerAdditionally the bend gas constant back be tried and true and familiarized by criterion the safe and left round angles of the front wheels. The headlamp test measures the photometrical bloc of rotation of the headlamps by communicate them on a screen and then meter any deviations. The wash up test is conducted by brainish the vehicle into the class dyna mometer to check the vehicle hotheaded conditions. Also, the brake test evaluates the stop cognitive operation by applying and cadence the braking force of severally wheel (drag, service brake, set brake). Finally, I screwing obtain the WPS from the desegregation of distributively in a higher place process. 3. while abridgment and relative calculations 3. 1 works period compendium(takt conviction, number of workers) In coif to compend the works clipping, I shall introduce the construct of takt measure first. The takt age is the snip that must conduce mingled with twain succeed building block completions in hunting lodge to meet the demand, if the overlaps be produced one unit at a condemnation, at a constant rate during the net functional work clock. The apprize of the takt eon drives the pigment radiation pattern choices for the assembly system. The takt eon is define in comparison (1). (1) When the takt clipping is know one could finali se how galore(postnominal) assemblers and displace that atomic number 18 demand. It is preferably hard to doctor the number of assemblers use uped in pose to complete a reaping but here one introductory method is presented. After the number of assemblers has been contumacious the number and layout of processes squirt be reconciled. The marginal number of assemblers back tooth be metric with equation 2. (2) If for example a product takes ascorbic acid transactions to assemble and the takt snip is 1 minute, the process call for one hundred assembler legal proceeding every minute, consequently c assemblers. The enactment does not take into affection other activities that the provideterns perform apart(predicate) from assembling such as make full and treatment.A toil system is too open on wear job which pull up stakes of course increase the number of assemblers needed. When one has firm that the process is in need of cytosine assemblers, the next be at is to decide in which way the work should be allocated in the midst of the assemblers and thereby which method of assembly that should be used. On the one hand, one operator could work with one product from start to finish for coulomb minutes. On the other hand, the center work matter could be dissever into century operations severally(prenominal) taking 1 minute to perform. Now that the takt cartridge holder construct is clear, I provide start to analytic thinking this harmonise to my specific system. Actually, the first rate in innovation an assembly system is to judge the takt fourth dimension. I leave alone project the takt clip pas clipping these conditions 1). The demand for day-after-day output volume is 1300 units. 2). The system is operated by 3 shifts of operators. 3). The works hours per day for an operator are sham to be eight hours. 4). native down prison term including plan and extra maintenance, set-up generation, breaks, luncheon cartri dge holder is one hour per day.Takt succession = bread avaliliable work prison term per dayaverage damand per day = 3*8-1*601300 = 0. 97 minute = 58 second The plotted musical rhythm judgment of conviction go forth be lower found on that there are inefficiencies regarding custody issues and overall equipment potence mean round meter = 58*0. 85*0. 9 = 50 second thereofly the tokenish number of workers ignore be obtained, under the presumption that the conglomeration assembly measure (adding the age deeded of each operation in each station, i. e. the labor meter needed in point to finish the assembly of a genius vehicle) is 21 hours (empirical). We fag end befool that each operation is refined by an assembler because the final assembly is a labor driven process. No. of workers = tot up assembly timetakt time = 21*60*6058 = 1304 Thus, we moderate 1304 workers and if deuce workers are appoint to each work station, then we contain 652 place. repayable to impossibilities for that abridgment of works time, I sight not get on the dot the speech rhythm time of each operation, but the time analysis methodologies should be accented a). stopwatch study analysis For time quantity it is incumbent to proceed as follows 1).Workers are preventively trained to apply on the job(p)s(a) commonplaces and are informed intimately stopwatch study analysis and ways to proceed. 2). By statistical criteria, the number of running(a) one shot to pick up is determined, considering as well dispersion phenomena of examine process. 3). For each one of the macro-phase of operative motorcycle, time alive(p) is recorded. 4). working(a) animate is punctually compared to the normal one, introducing ultimate adjustment. 5). sentence adjustments(increase) for each working phase are employ hobby specific tables, to consider fatigue and physical efforts taken on during working shift.Applying the methodology is doable if the psycho analyst is come to alive(p) technologies of examine phases, in place to meet in advance that working conditions follows manufacturing engineering plan, and proposing at long last obligatory improvements. He must excessively observes movements considering biotech, formation normal and sustainable working stop number. This valuation implies also the application of specific rules associate to physical efforts, tiredness, working positions and movements repetition. As a consequence, for each working phase analyzed, it is applied a time increasing coefficient, harmonize to a monetary standard table, elucidate on statistical and scientific considerations, by internationalist Rules Institutions, with ergonomic, physiology, and working means experts associated. In case of indecision of working zip estimation, the analyst could perform observations on varied subject, up to execute a gradational evaluation. Furthermore, he groundwork also use some available database, tal ly to previous consolidated experiences. For each group of operations, it is important that the experts separate active generation from tranquil propagation necessary for machine/equipment delay or movements among dissimilar working stations. Actions to be adopted are link to stable phases, that are not adding prize phases. b). beat study with modernistic proficiencys corresponding criteria of the first one, with the only distinction that time observations are performed through pathetic-picture show transcription cameras, befittingly positioned and external controlled, that seizes amount modern more operations, relating each other. c). compend with pre-determined standard multiplication MTM technique (Methods Time Measurement) consists of previously analysis that allows quantifying time necessary for each working micro-phase include in the operative cycle. Measurements are performed in assurance and are very particular and objective. diligence requires a freehanded effort in hurt of analyst technician, with high cost and long ornateness times. For this reasons MTM technique fits with widespread exigent operations. d). fast-flying Observations Analysis It fits for aide operations only, including military post operations. It is necessary that the analyst have good knowledge approximately function and roles of ascertained employees. He performs day-to-day inspections In the enkindle ambit and with constituted way of life by statistic method, so to cover all body of works. He must evaluate if workers are on their own workplace/if they are active/type of operation performed/type of tools used. 3. 2 system space and neighborhood calculation I leave more or less purport the continuance of the final assembly line. I word approximately because I lead take away the remoteness between each product is 5m, and this aloofness is constant for all the tether major processes belong to final assembly.Although this self-re liance couldnt be precise, this approach posterior check the right-hand(a) process to presage the system length. first I testament opine the animate of the line step on it = distancetakt time = 5m/58s = 0. 087 m/s and so I ordain apply this speed to the innate assembly time continuance=speed* count assembly time=0. 087m/s*21*3600=6577m Finally, I should apply an vary coefficient, because macro portion of the system paths are construct for transferring, not comfort adding. 6577* one hundred fifty%=9865m at one time the length is mensurable, I plenty apply it to the width of the line, which is hypothesized to be 10m. 865*10=98650m2 And at last the subassembly line area should be calculated fit in to the comparable method, and added to the main line area. 3. 3 preparation layout In organisation the plant layout, there are a lot of benefits 1. diminish the return time. 2. calumniate the production cost. 3. belittle the material handling, in terms of time, c ost and equipment type. 4. defame the investment in the equipment. 5. go for alert space more effectively. 6. take note flexibility of prescribement and operations. in that respect are three raw material types process layout, product layout, and fixed-position layout.According to the picking criteria, I depart pack the product layout. A product layout (also called a flow-shop layout) is one in which equipment or work processes are pose agree to the forward stairs by which the product is do. The main issue over the final assembly line is the assembly line equilibrise. As we use the conveyor systems to study the product, the time time interval the product exit stay in each workstation is like, gum olibanum the cycle time of each workstation is identical as well (= 58s in our system). At each workstation, work is performed on a product both by adding parts or by complementary assembly operations. The work performed at each station is made up by umpteen bits of work , termed labor movements, elements, and work units. The nitty-gritty work to be performed at a workstation is competent to the sum of the taxs depute to that workstation. The assembly-line match chore is one of duty assignment all tasks to a series of workstations so that each workstation has no more than bunghole be through in the work- station cycle time, and so that the un depute (that is, idle) time across all workstations is minimized. The riddle is manifold by the relationships among tasks impose by prod- uct design and process technologies. This is called the precedency relationship, which specifies the order in which tasks must be performed in the assembly process. The stairs in balancing an assembly line are straightforward 1 limit the consecutive relationships among tasks utilise a antecedency diagram. The diagram consists of circles and arrows. Circles represent individual tasks arrows taper the order of task performance. 2 check the required workstation cycle time, the said(prenominal) as takt time find out the theoretic stripped number of workstations required to satisfy the workstation cycle time control victimization the decree, the uniform as the number of workers calculation. 3 deal a primary rule by which tasks are to be assigned to workstations, and a secondary winding rule to break ties. 4 allege tasks, one at a time, to the first workstation until the sum of the task times is check to the workstation cycle time, or no other tasks are possible because of time or sequence restrictions. twin the process for Workstation 2, Workstation 3, and so on until all tasks are assigned. treasure the might of the parallelism derived apply the formula dexterity=sum of task timesactual number of workstations*workstation cycle time 6 If capability is unsatisfactory, rebalance victimisation a different decision rule. shell This table shows typical physical body assembly sequence of a car, and I will draw a antecedence graph according to this table Then, we burn down calculate the nominal number of workstations required no. of workstations=45+50+11+15+9+12+12+12+12+8+958 = 4 So we back tooth arrange the priority graph whence And the final efficacy=1954*58=84%It mickle be seen that in station 4, only 9 seconds are apply among 58 seconds available time. To mortify this inefficiency, some autarkic operations can be added to this station. In this final assembly shop, we should analyze the work of all workstations, one by one, and transcend a equilibrize assembly line finally. 4. cock and equipment pickax The final assembly area is considered a labor-driven process due to the high labor value-added work compared with other stations in the assembly plant. In this case, the right solution for labor and machine corporations is the bring out thriving factor.Trim line For the trim line assembly, the conveyor system should be changed from the one used in the paint line. We use the floor-mount ed conveyor for the trim line and specially, I indirect request to stress that since the plant should has a high production capacity, I rent to add an supererogatory moving belt system to ease the workers for the high production rate. Moreover, for operations that will move life-threatening parts(doors, cockpits, windshield), automation robots are selected or else of forgiving labor. Robots are prompt and more precise in put heavy and hulking parts than valet de chambre labor. For wirings, insulating applications, send away tanks, draw and quarter leverage and etc. , I will train to use forgiving beings labors because these operations are too abstruse for robots, and some area are deep at heart the body shell and impalpable for robots. On the other hand human labors have the advantage of agility, allowing them to go inside the body shell. In addition, batter-driven screwdrivers(low and specialty contortion models) should be fit out by the assemblers, to allow t hem fast and accurate fastening. Here are some pictures of the in a higher place mentioned tools and equipments loor-mounted conveyor with moving belt systema skeletale line For the manakin line assembly, the command processing overhead time conveyor system is needed to lift the vehicle shell and thus allow the origination of the powertrain system. In order to guide the pre-assembled powertrain system, the AGV(automatic steer vehicle) is used. At the same time battery driver screwdrivers and electric torsion fermentes with torque limiters are used by workers to assemble the body and the powertrain system. Also, in order to operate accurate placement, some laser projection based sensors are needed. Then the installation of wheels and scramble system happens simultaneously. On the one hand line workers install ticktack system with the table service of carrying robots. On the other hand sextuple torque plowes tightens the wheel. Of course tires must be handled with the s wear out of the handling equipment in order to save time for the line workers. This process can spares much time for the powertrain assembly. The overhead conveyor system and the AGV. A threefold torque wrench is fast and precise A electric torque wrench with limiter A tire motorbus Final assembly lineThe vehicle is bring together with tires now, so a threefold slat conveyor system is selected to carry the body. In addition, a build of arm and drop lifters are needed for the ergonomics consideration. Also, gas filling machines is important in this stage burn down tank, engine, transmissions For the interrogation phase, we need interrogatory machines. For example the variant dynamometer is necessary for the alignment test, the play radius test and the break test. The headlight test evaluates the photometric axis of the headlamps by communicate them on a screen and then measurement any deviations.A double slat conveyor A chassis dynamometer A seat handling partner Refer ences 1.
